Keratomileusis

Keratomileusis is a surgical procedure to improve the refractive state of the cornea. It is performed by cutting and then lifting up a corneal lamella, which is freezed. Once this corneal lamella has been shaped into a new curvature by a surgical instrument, it is put back in place. Keratomileusis was developed by the Colombian Ophthalmologist José Ignacio Barraquer.
