AN/APG-68

The AN/APG-68 is a long range pulse-doppler radar developed by Westinghouse for the US Air Force to be used in the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The AN/APG-68(V)9 variant is an advanced capability system which is composed of a dual mode transmitter, a modular low-power radio frequency, a programmable signal processor, and an antenna. The AN/APG-68 (V)9 additionally offers a 33 percent increase in air-to-air detection range over earlier versions of the radar, introducing synthetic aperture radar, which provides high-resolution ground mapping. When combined with other weapon-system improvements, it enables F-16s with autonomous 24-hour, all-weather precision-strike capability.

Now the AN/APG-68(V)9 is manufactured by Northrop Grumman who has delivered more than 250 units to equip the F-16D Block 52+s of the Israeli Air Force, Turkish Air Force, Moroccan Air Force and Greek Air Force, Pakistan Air Force and the F-16C/D Block 52+s of the Polish Air Force.
