General Electric F118

The General Electric F118 was a turbofan jet engine which was manufactured by GE to power the B-2 bomber. It was developed from the F110 engine. The F118 was an axial-flow engine with annular combustor. A single stage high pressure turbine drove the nine-stage highe pressure compressor, while a two-stage low pressure turbine drove the three-stage fan. The US Air Force Lockheed U-2 aircraft were equipped with a modified F118 engine.
